Culture
Telugu culture & traditions
Telugu food
Telugu cuisine is famously spicy, with Andhra known for fiery curries and Telangana for hearty millet-based meals. Rice is the staple; tamarind, chillies and curd run through almost every dish.
Telugu music
Telugu music spans Carnatic classical, devotional kirtanas of Annamacharya, and the colossal film music tradition of Tollywood. The mridangam, ghatam and veena anchor the classical sound.
Telugu dance
Kuchipudi, born in the Andhra village of the same name, is the classical dance of Telugu country. It blends fast footwork, expressive abhinaya, and storytelling sequences from mythology.
Telugu films (Tollywood)
Tollywood, based in Hyderabad, is India's second-largest film industry by output. From cult classics like "Mayabazar" to global hits like "Baahubali" and "RRR", Telugu cinema defines spectacle.
Telugu traditional attire
Telugu attire is rich in handlooms — Pochampally ikat, Gadwal silks, Venkatagiri cottons. Women wear the half-saree (langa voni) for festivals; men wear pancha (dhoti) with a kanduva.
