Uttarayan is Gujarat's celebration of Makar Sankranti, famous for rooftop kite-flying. Families gather on terraces from dawn for two days, filling the sky with kites while sharing til-gud sweets and undhiyu — capped by Ahmedabad's well-known International Kite Festival.
