Karva Chauth — करवा चौथ
karvā chauth
October–November

Karva Chauth began as a North Indian tradition but is increasingly observed by Marathi families too, especially in cities. Married women keep a sunrise-to-moonrise fast for their husbands' long life, breaking it only after sighting the moon through a sieve.
